Industrial Welding


Welding is a fabrication process that joins materials, usually metals or thermoplastics, by using high heat to melt the parts together and allowing them to cool, causing fusion. In this program we are going to learn different types of welding processes used in industry with their advantages and disadvantages. Develops basic knowledge and practice with a welding process and perform welding in accordance with industry standards. Develops foundational skills required for advancement in future coursework. We are also covering the calculations included in welded joints. We will be designing the welded joints on Solid works and analyse the behaviour when a force is applied on it. As welding is the most commonly used process to join two materials, we will be covering all the types of welded joints used in industries.

  • Define procedures for correction of defective weld quality and describe the need for other functions to assure weld quality.
